RICKY GARNI: PHOTOGRAPHER

I love birthdays, quinceñaeras, class reunions, baby birthdays, punk parties and bridal showers. I love rock 'n roll bands and flashy lights, classical concerts with evening dress and teen parties. I love fund raisers and money makers, corporations and street parties, dress-ups, and my goodness surprises. I have been pleased as punch and lucky as all get-out and happy as pie all to have photographed truffle farms, polka parties, Serbian baptisms, circus acrobats, ancient animals, special ops reunions, dinosaur weddings, wildlife federation celebrations and dancers dancing in the very, very dark. I love film and digital and Polaroids and mirrorless, Nikon and Pentax and Fuji and Zenit and Minolta and Contaflex and Ihagee Exakta, Holga, Ferrania and exotic film stocks repurposed from a Italian filmmakers, 70 century ago. I love racing to find the shutter’s precision moment of release - I love to click of the moment before away it goes.

My gear? Nothing pleases me more than pulling my 1953 EXA film camera out of the bag that my father bought on his honeymoon in 1954 and still works today. Nothing pleases me more than drenched and bleached colors. Nothing pleases me more than brooding black and white, classical or whackadoodle styling. Nothing pleases me more than a call from a client, and a conversation that ends with the words: “Surprise me!”

And I am available to photograph 12 months a year, seven days a week, 8 AM - the wee hours. My pricing structure is simple, straightforward and inclusive. I render sample shots (12-25) within 8 hours (for social media) and a complete, edited set (150-200+, full resolution color and black & white) within 72. Advanced notice is often best, but if I am free, I will be there for you.

All photographs rendered belong forever to the client, and may be posted, shared, printed without any additional fees. All work is archived on an external hard drive in the event the client ever needs an additional copy.

Please send me a note if you would like to document your next adventure!
